Six months ago I had an idea for this shoot. I pictured my daughter as a marionette surrounded by other marionettes similar in size. I pictured it very dramatic with lots of emotion and feeling. It required a lot of preparation. I wanted it to be perfect so I spent a lot of time on ebay looking for large puppets and I sewed her costume from scratch myself. I sought out advice from a photographer friend of mine named Rich Legg who is the best stock photographer I know. He has a studio which he offered to let me use and knows everything there is to know about lighting. He offered to help as well. We finally did it yesterday and I must say it is so cool to finally have this picture out of my head so everyone can see it!!
Here it is, just like I imagined it only better!
Can't decide if I like the faded color version or the full color version better.
Abby was not in the best mood for the shoot since it required A LOT of standing still! She was such a trooper though.
This one is another favorite.
It was Rich's idea to use the blue and yellow lights for a dramatic stage light look and take out the puppets. Brilliant!
Here is Rich - he was so great with my Abby. Thank you!!
If you want to see a behind the scene shot of the set-up we used go to Rich's blog where he posted a picture he took of Abby to use for stock photography plus a behind the scene picture.
